My Happy Place

If that’s the case I’m going to have white hair before I can get to the hair dresser. I feel like using the word house in conjunction with hunting or building should be illegal or at least considered a curse word. I can feel the great hair seeping through.

Last weekend before school starts and the kid is with my SIL. My lovely husband opts to stay gone until like 9 last night instead of coming home for date night earlier. Wasted my makeup for nothing. Next time I’ll just go drink lol.

You know, cutting the ribbon, digging the first hole, whatever it is that people do when they are first opening something that will be their brand new chapter in life? Well while this might not be my store or my business but this is my place to let it all out. My happy place. My place to post the funny things that I find, rave about my son and be my normal badass self. So the last part might be a slight exaggeration, but I’m feeling pretty inspired today for some reason. I forgot how much I used to love blogging on the ancient Myspace. Admittedly, I have nothing of importance for most people to read about but I feel better about myself letting it out.

So here’s a little about me. I love funny movies, but I am a complete sucker for a cry your heart out and eat the whole carton of ice cream chick flick. I can’t tell a joke to save my life. Most of my witty attempts are less than mediocre but occasionally I’ll get a good zinger in. I love photography, long walks on the beach (without the long walks), running, reading and going to school. I LOVE love things that require me to think and make me learn. It makes me feel like I’m doing something useful with the brain that I’ve been given. My favorite thing of all is the 3 year old that holds my heart in his tiny hand. You’ll (like I’ll have people that read this) hear a lot about him. He’s my inspiration to be a better person and to learn as much as I possibly can to teach him along the way. I’m addicted to re-posting funny things and I LOVE the Chive. If you don’t know what that is Google it. Better yet, here’s the link http://thechive.com/. It cracks me up on a regular basis.

I work for a small law firm as a paralegal and I’m currently finishing up my BA in Psychology with high hopes of going to grad school. I immediately went to college after high school, took some time off and now getting back into the swing of things. The time off was the best thing I’ve ever done. There was no way at that time that I was even half motivated to make the grades that I do now. *WARNING total brag moment coming up* I’ve made the President’s list once and the Dean’s list twice while working full time and being a mom and a wife. I’ve been married for 4 years. Longest 4 years of my life lol. I’m kidding, we aren’t without our faults and we are far from perfect which makes it perfect for me.

I hope to actually maintain this for a while and get away from the Facebook world. I hope to find less nagging here.
